The Laboratory Equipment agreement focuses on the autonomy of an individual institutional buyers / co-ordinators, with the benefits of consortium buying power. This agreement through the tender process has provided a wide scope of equipment, through laboratory logistics specialist companies, it also paves the way for savings such as consolidation buying (such as multi-quantity of the same, different equipment types or call-off arrangements).
The agreement commenced on 1 June 2007 and runs until 31 May 2010 and will be managed by the LUPC Laboratory Group which combines the current Supplies and the new Equipment agreement.
The new Laboratory Consumables Agreement commenced on the 1st March 2008. This agreement focuses on the autonomy of an individual institutional core list for specialist products. The new agreement through the tender process has provided a wide scope of general chemicals and other consumables products, through laboratory logistics
specialist companies. Other areas addressed within the tender include, but
not limited to, e-procurement, returning goods, delivery performance and query
handling.
